David Eigenberg

David Eigenberg is an American actor best known for his longrunning role as Steve Brady on the HBO sitcom Sex and the City and for his role as firefighter Christopher Herrmann on NBCs Chicago Fire.

Eigenberg was born in Manhasset, New York, on Long Island, and grew up in Naperville, Illinois, in a family of six children, all the rest girls. A younger one is named Betsy, and an older one, Helen. Their mother, Beverly, owns preschools, and his father, Harry Eigenberg, is a retired certified public accountant. Eigenberg was raised in his mothers Episcopalian religion . The family moved to Illinois when Eigenberg was four. He acted for the first time at the age ofin a community theater production of Kurt Vonneguts Happy Birthday, Wanda June. While playing football at Naperville Central High School, the quarterback on his team was Sean Payton, who became the coach of the New Orleans Saints.
